The Milky Way and A Lyrid Meteor

Tonight was a wonderful sight to see after the clouds moved out ,I probably saw roughly 30 to 40 meteors but the peak for me was about 3:30 to 4:30 this photograph was taken where Oak Grove High School used to stand, this piece of land has been good to me over the years and I had chased this meteor shower all over, last night and up until dawn Sunday morning.Despite the light pollution from the coal mines I saw most of my meteors here in this location……Go OGHS Tigers!

Sounds Of Yesteryear, a photo by Tommy Mosley on Flickr.

I can close my eyes and remember the sounds , smells and the screams from the friday night crowds.
April 8th 1998 the year I graduated high school also the year to the date that a F5 tornado ripped through my home town leaving my Alma Mater in ruins completely gone , 14 years today. I have stood in this end zone numerous times as a child all the way up to my teens , for the first time in 14 years, today I stood in it as a man.

Oak Grove Night Sky, a photo by Tommy Mosley on Flickr.

I started off just going to look at the moon right after sunset this afternoon so I turned to the Western sky and what a sight even though the moon was so bright the Sky was filled with wonder the air with the sounds of a pack of coyotes howling and playing this photograph is From the Night Sky near Oak Grove Alabama about 8:00 this afternoon,The brightest stars you see are Venus and Jupiter is right above the horizon to the slight bottom right of venus is the Awesome Pleiades Star Cluster there are numerous Constellations some of them are Pyxis, Canis Major, Cancer, Perseus ,Orion, Tarus and I think Gemini if I'm reading the App Star Walk Correctly.
